Modist Brewing is nothing if not creative. They’re known for their unconstrained experimentation and what they call “alternative beers.” Rather than starting with a particular style with guidelines, co-founder and head brewer Keigan Knee starts with a flavor in mind and then works backwards. Untethered by style, the crew is free to use whatever ingredients and techniques they want to create novel beer flavor experiences. A custom-built brewery featuring the region’s first mash filter helps Modist unleash their unprecedented, craveable creations –– a Pain Killer Fruited Sour with coffee and over 6,000 pounds of adjuncts, and a plethora of classic styles spiced up with decadent oak foeder aging.
