A Note on This Beer

My tastebuds stand at full attention every time I hear The Brewing Projekt dropped a new Smoofee Sour. This series takes ‘Smoothie Sour’ to next-level lusciousness!

Especially today’s new Lassi-style rendition. This is the first fruit and baking spice version I’ve spotted from this brewery!

Let me tell you – this stuff is some seriously thick, decadent ambrosia. The brewers say they used “absurd amounts of Mango, Cinnamon, Cardamom and Vanilla... We’re not kidding when we say this thing is built.

Every sweet-tangy sip is like diving into a silky mango pudding, drenched in sweet cream and topped with a rich layer of dessert spices. The Sour base adds a note of succulent tartness, as though the dessert comes garnished with a strip of candied lemon peel.

The 6.3% ABV is pretty manageable too, so I’m happy to keep indulging all day!

That’s only if I can keep enough to myself though. The last two Smoofee Sours we had landed mighty impressive 4.29 and 4.38 Tavour ratings, so I know I’m not the only one whose taste buds are ready to pounce!

Seriously thick mango nectar pour, more sweet than sour, cinnamon and cardamom comes through. Basically a smoothie. I didn’t float any dark rum on top, but hey.... why not?

I haven't been as consistently impressed with TBP's fruited sours as, say, Drekker. This one, though, is pretty stellar. The hint of cinnamon and cardamom put a big ole smile on my stupid face.

My friend and I weren’t sure if we enjoyed the mango combined with the other flavors, it seemed like it needed another fruit or a different fruit to blend well. Almost was soapy tasting. But the thickness was my favorite! Tasty beer still! just not what we expected.

Wow! This is probably the thickest beer I’ve ever had. Like this is the closest “smoothie”-style beer that I’ve had that actually resembles a smoothie. The aroma is very initially intense mango with a nice mingling of cardamom intermingled with cinnamon, rounded off with a nice sweetness of vanilla. This drinks almost identically to a mango lassi, but one that has a personality to it. It has a good amount of fruity sweetness, but is still a beer with the sourness, especially reinforced by the light-feeling carbonation. Definitely high praises to this beer and brewery on a perfect execution.

Cardamom was way too overpowering. The initial taste was awful but after the cardamom flavor was gone, the flavor was better.

This beer was good. The mango completely overwhelmed the sour notes. I couldn't even tell. That said, this finished like badly mixed pina colada with vodka.

Loved this Smoffee. Had that Kerns Mango Juice thickness happening. Not overly sweet which was good. I didn't taste much of the Vanilla and Cinnamon or Cardamom, though. At least not in the first can I had.
