About This Beer
Steven Moss is the production manager at Weathered Souls. He’s not a brewer, but he occasionally helps Marcus, the founder and head brewer, with deciding which adjuncts to use in the Berliner Weisse base. Each of “Steven’s Creations” is released in a 1 bbl batch on Thursdays. For version 4.0, they revisited the recipe for a previous, fan-favorite beer that was called Pineapple Upside Down Cake. This edition is a Berliner-style Ale with pineapple puree, toasted coconut, Mexican vanilla beans and cherries.
Tasting Notes
On the nose, there’s a mix of pineapple and cherry, with some coconut as well. The taste is similar, with pineapple and cherry up front and a whisper of creamy vanilla on the finish. The coconut is very subtle. The beer is both tart and sweet, with a light, smooth body and a silky mouthfeel.
