About This Beer

This top-shelf Hazy is an homage to the French mathematician Gaston Julia’s work. I don’t understand the reference, or really anything about Julia’s field of study, because unlike the geniuses behind Equilibrium, I didn’t graduate with a Ph.D. from MIT.

The brewers started with their signature Fractal series base. Then they added heaping helpings of Citra, Mosaic, and El Dorado Hops to the whirlpool before dry hopping with a double dose of Mosaic and El Dorado, plus a hit of Strata.

Tasting Notes

Each smooth-as-silk sip bursts with huge waves of candied citrus zest, juicy mango, and stone fruit. Even with its seriously boozy 10.5% ABV, Untappd fans are calling it “dangerously drinkable.”

It pulls you into the vortex. Pronounced hop burn and noticeable booze, but then the sticky sweet purée hits (peaches… mangos…) and halfway in you won’t care.

good mouth feel, little more amber color than expected. mainly a piny resin and strong grapefruit bitterness at the end that linger. more malt than i would've expected.
