A Note on This Beer
The Brewing Projekt knows the rich, passionfruit character of Moutere Hops is well worth the hunt.
The New Zealand-born varietal only started gaining popularity among U.S. brewers in recent years, but you’ll still be hard pressed to find them in any average IPA.
Which is a bit of a shame, because these hops are exceptionally high in alpha acids and oil content — a.k.a., the stuff that makes your beer taste and smell so dang delicious!
Translation: these sought-after cones have the starpower necessary for raucous juicebombs like today’s Imperial IPA.
The brewers crafted this beer with a mountain of Moutere, amplified by Citra and Simcoe Hops, to deliver a massive dose of bright, tropical tang in the fluffy body. In every sip, you get wave after wave of ripe citrus and sweet pineapple before a hit of resinous pine appears on the finish.
Crack into a can, and explore the fruity wonders these Kiwi-grown hops are known for. But, grab your stash quick — we can count on one hand the number of Moutere-hopped brews we’ve seen before at Tavour.
Which means, today might be one of very few chances for you to taste the magic of Moutere Hops.
