About This Beer
Do you ever wonder what worker bees really think of the queen? I’m assuming it’s a little less than matriarchal, seeing as how the queen bee isn’t actually ruling the hive. Bees are democratic by nature, and the queen, well, she’s kind of just a figurehead at this point. It’s all very English.
The whole hive situation would be UK tabloid fodder if it weren’t for the delicious results — honey! And the imaginative craft crew at Drekker have loaded tons of the golden, sticky stuff into their Royal Bee DIPA!
Tasting Notes
To craft this U.S. Open Beer Championships medal-winning Honey Cream IPA, the brewers packed Magnum, Hallertau Blanc, Ekuanot, and Mosaic Hops into a pillowy soft body loaded with oats! The resulting Hazy base of piney resin and bright citrus is then drizzled in local honey to brighten the hoppiness. Rounding off the edges is a heavy dose of lactose, wrapping the brew in a creamy finish.
Even a dour queen of dankness would buzz at a hopbomb like this, especially as the 8% ABV kicks in!
