Before opening Crooked Stave, brewery founder Chad Yakobson wrote his Master’s thesis on Brettanomyces yeast. When he openly published the research for other brewers to use, he instantly became a Brett Guru, and the brewery’s Wild, Sour, and funky brews reflect that! They even make a series of rarely-seen Sour Stouts. This crew makes excellent clean beers, too, from IPAs to Pilsners, but it’s their more unusual brews that really make them stand out on the Colorado craft scene.
